Storage near the Fort Worth Medical District

Drive-up storage about a half mile south of Magnolia Avenue — practical for residents, travelling staff, apartment dwellers and Near Southside businesses.

Storage a short drive from the hospitals

A-Thrifti Self Storage sits at 2115 8th Ave., in Near Southside Fort Worth, roughly a half mile south of Magnolia Avenue and the hospital district. If you live in the apartments around Fairmount, Mistletoe Heights or Hemphill, or you work in the district and need somewhere to put things that is not another storage run across town, this is the closer of our two properties.

It is straightforward drive-up storage: white block buildings, blue roll-up doors, park at the door and unload. Nothing clever, just close.

Who uses it

  • Medical residents and travelling staff. Rotations and contracts that are shorter than a normal lease leave people with more furniture than apartment. A small unit costs less than the bigger apartment would.
  • Near Southside apartment residents. Older buildings in this part of town are charming and short on closets. A 5×6 or 5×10 gives you back a room.
  • People moving into or out of the district. Lease gaps, closings that slip, renovations.
  • Small businesses along Magnolia and 8th. Stock, seasonal displays, records and equipment that does not need to sit in leased retail space. See business storage in Fort Worth.

Questions

Medical District storage questions

How close is your storage to the Fort Worth Medical District?

Our 8th Avenue property is roughly a half mile south of Magnolia Avenue and the hospital district — close enough that most people working in the district can stop by on the way home rather than making a separate trip.

Is this useful for medical residents and travelling staff?

It is one of the more common reasons people rent from us here. Rotations, fellowships and travel contracts all create the same problem: a lease that is shorter than the amount of furniture you own. A small drive-up unit is usually the cheapest way to solve it.

What size do I need for a one-bedroom apartment near the district?

A 5×15 or a 7×15 usually handles a one-bedroom. If you are only storing the overflow — off-season clothes, books, a bike, boxes — a 5×6 or 5×10 is normally plenty.

Can I get in after a shift?

Access hours are confirmed at the office and differ between our two properties. Call the 8th Avenue location, tell us the hours you actually work, and we will tell you straight whether it fits.

Do you have a location with a gate and keypad?

Yes — our Pafford Street property is entered through a keypad-controlled gate. It is a little further out but worth knowing about if controlled access matters to you.

Still not sure? Call the location nearest you and ask — you will get a person, not a phone tree.

Working nearby and out of room?

Call the 8th Avenue office and we will tell you what is open today.
